Confusion? Skateboard Magazine
Confusion Magazine, often referred to as Confuzine, is an underground, print-focused skate publication established in 2010 by Jonathan Hay. Born as a spiritual successor to Concussion Magazine (1997–2008), Confusion was created to continue documenting the growing global DIY skate scene after a brief hiatus. Based on a philosophy of authenticity and independence, the magazine highlights skater-built, off-the-map skate spots, concrete pools, and the punk and hardcore music scene.
Unlike mainstream skate media, Confusion focuses on raw, unpolished DIY skateparks/projects. The magazine celebrates international DIY scenes across Europe, Japan, Australia, the USA, and beyond. Its content combines interviews, photography, and features on underground artists and musicians, reflecting the independent, anti-corporate ethos at the heart of the publication.
Through its dedication to DIY skateboarding, authentic storytelling, and global underground culture, Confusion Magazine continues to operate as a core, independent voice in the skate industry. The publication stands as a testament to the idea that skateboarding is not just a sport or fashion statement—it’s a lifestyle rooted in creativity, community, and the concrete-built, hands-on ethos of the DIY skate scene.
