Skateboard rails were the norm on a skateboard in the 80's but went out of fashion in the 90's. They've been making a bit of a comeback the last decade or so and we now sell them on the daily again. They are all made of hard plastic and need to be screwed onto your deck (screws are included) nice and tight. They can make a real difference when sliding on coping (check out older guys like Lance Mountain and Steve Caballero boardsliding on vert) and can help when grabbing tricks. One thing to add, if you buy a Powell Tail Bone (Tail Saver), you'll need to drill the deck as they come with the old school sex bolts.
