Founded in 2002 by professional skateboarder Keith Hufnagel (RIP), HUF began as a small boutique shop in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, curating rare and hard to find skate goods for the community. From these humble beginnings, the brand quickly grew into a globally recognized streetwear and skate label, staying true to its roots with a simple ethos: made by skateboarders, for skateboarders. Today, HUF blends premium design with skate culture, carrying the spirit of the streets into every collection.
In 2002, pro skateboarder Keith Hufnagel (RIP) opened a small shop in San Francisco’s Tenderloin, selling rare skate goods to a tight-knit community. That boutique soon grew into HUF, a globally recognized streetwear and skate brand defined by its “made by skateboarders, for skateboarders” ethos. HUF’s journey began with its first store in San Fran, offering rare skate goods and eventually developing its own in house products. The brand quickly became known for its “Dirtbag Crew” aesthetic and iconic, often provocative designs like the legendary plantlife socks and collaborations with artists and cultural icons, including the Wu-Tang Clan.
