Penny Skateboards is an Australian company that was founded by Ben Mackay in 2010 with the idea of bringing back those little plastic skateboards that he once had as a kid. When this type of small plastic board was around in the 1970’s they were known and ‘short cruisers’ and Penny was a term that came along much later after when Ben Mackay named his new company after his sister Penny. Penny Skateboards come in three sizes, 22", 27" (the Nickel) and 36" longboard. They come as a complete set up that is ready to skate out of the box or can be custom built with individual components.
