GX1000 is a San Francisco–based skateboard brand founded by videographer Ryan Garshell and designer Stephen McClintock. The brand grew out of a series of cult, lo-fi videos documenting high-speed hill bombs and raw street skating through San Fran. Its name pays homage to the iconic Sony VX1000 camera often called the “VX”used by Garshell to film the brand’s signature gritty, fisheye-heavy footage that helped define GX1000’s identity.
