The Board Room Skatepark Gateshead Tyne+Wear
The Newcastle Skate Scene has been crying out for a decent indoor park for as far back as I can rememeber and it seems those cries have been answered with The Board Room a new skatepark set to open it’s doors at the end of this month. The Skatepark is a family venture being guided by the caring hands of shop homie Dave over at Shred The North, ensuring the people that will be skating the park have input into it’s creation.
A core group of guys are behind the building process which has seen the park really spring to life, it has went from a vacant space to having the solid bones of a fun looking park in only a matter of weeks. The Board Room aims to be a safe space for all and will cater to every skill level, with Dave offering skateboard lessons via his Pop More Skate School a little further down the line.
The Park is marked to open for it’s first full weekend on the 26th/27th of October (only a week away!) with sessions running for various age groups over the two days. There’ll be live music, Shred The North merch and refreshements available. The sessions are fairly priced at £8 for two hours with a £10 3 hour session running in the evening for over 16’s (A mandatory annual membership of £2 is also required).
A massive thank you to everyone involved in making this happen and we can’t wait to get through the doors. keep you eyes open for a Native Team edit coming soon.
