Deathwish Skateboards: A cult classic!
Deathwish skateboards was founded by Jim Greco and Eric Ellington in 2008 and is a sister company to skateboarding powerhouse Baker Skateboards. Over the years Deathwish has cemented itself as one of street skateboardings favourite and most well respected companies.
The Deathwish Gang- logo and text graphics are instantly recognisable and some of the most popular here at Native. Deathwish’s brand identity is made by its raw, street feel, portrayed in both the gang logo and other graphics, often featuring horror, punk and heavy metal themes, with plenty of skulls to be found.
Over the years, there’s been so many notable skaters riding for Deathwish, and in 2026, their team is absolutely stacked. Of course, founders and legends Erik Ellington and Jim Greco are there, as well as more legacy pros such as Jon Dickson, Neen Williams, Taylor Kirby and Jake Hayes. We have to talk about the two time soty as well, Jamie Foy has been riding for Deathwish for a number of years now, picking up soty twice along the way, releasing more than one pro shoe with New Balance, and just totally shutting it down in general, with Jamie Foy on your team, you’re in a good spot. Let’s not forget Pedro Delfino as well, absolute all terrain shredder, one of the best in the business. The Deathwish team is stacked.
As well as Foy and the other legends mentioned, Deathwish have managed to keep the team looking fresh as well, adding Yuri Facchini and Chris Athens to the pro ranks, as well as putting Sean O’connor on the AM squad, Ellington and Greco are doing a great job at keeping the team fresh.
Alongside Baker, Deathwish have released some of the biggest and most popular skate videos ever! In 2008, the same year Deathwish was founded, ‘Baker has a Deathwish’ dropped. This video had a massive impact on the street skateboarding scene, not far off the levels we saw from Baker 3. Featuring full parts from both teams heaviest hitters, Baker has a Deathwish was a massive success. Deathwish followed the success of the video a few years later releasing ‘The Deathwish Video’ in 2013, the company’s first solo full length, and it took the brand to new heights of popularity. After a decent hiatus on the full length video front, Deathwish released ‘Uncrossed’ in 2021, and then the follow up to Baker has a Deathwish, ‘Baker has a Deathwish 2’, in 2024. Including an insanely good ending part from Jamie Foy.
Deathwish’s most recent video offering was ‘Introducing’ in 2025, and it does exactly what it says in the title. Officially introducing Chris Athens to the team with a strong part, the video also featured some of the crews newer riders such as Yuri Fachinni and Sean O’connor, as well as a section from Pedro Delfino.
Deathwish is definitely one of the most respected companies in street skateboarding, with popular and recognisable graphics and art styles, incredible video offerings dating all the way back to 2008, and one of the most stacked teams in 2026, including a two time soty, Deathwish are for sure holding it down for street skateboarding.
