Skateboard Instagram Clips Channels

In 2024, a lot of skateboarding is centred on Instagram, whether it’s Thrasher posting the new Thrasher trip edit, brands posting new products and clips, or your favourite skaters posting their footage that 15 years ago would of been an ender in a full length video, it all happens on Instagram. In this blog we’d like the shine some light on the un-sung heroes running accounts known as ‘clips channels’.

From ‘@thecultoftom’ to ‘@nolliefsflips’, anyone, and anything can end up with a clips channel and a cult following of their/it’s own. We’ve got some favourite clips channels at Native, and we’re going to highlight 5 we feel are must follows for you.

@Competer_programmis

Peter Grannis runs @competer-programmis a compilation clips channel boasting an impressive 16.5k followers on instagram. Programmis consists of a mix of entertaining and informative posts, often filled with enough skate trivia to keep any skate rat engaged. For example, a recent post compared pro skaters with high a volume amount of skate parts produced, and which skater had beaten the rest to the title of most parts released, the winner, 2021 SOTY Mark Suciu with 29 official parts released, spanning from 2001-2024, and most notably dropping 5 parts in a year (2021) playing a big part in him becoming that years SOTY. Who would of known, if it wasn’t for the work of Competer_Programmis. Programmis has also been running a popular trick of the month competition post every month throughout 2024, re-posting clips of tricks from pro parts released in that month, and letting his followers choose the best. If you like good skateboarding footage new and old, and want entertaining post topics and often some informative skate trivia, @competer_programmis is an excellent page to follow!

@atl_abd

We move swiftly onto a more controversial one, and one of my personal favourites. @atl_abd is fully centred around one of the more hot topics within skating and especially the pro/sponsored skateboarding world, ABD’s (Already been done). An ABD is any trick on a streetspot that has already been landed by someone before them. Some people take ABD’s very seriously, and some say it’s losing it’s importance in the skateboarding world, and whichever your stance on ABD’s is, atl_abd is packed full of juicy abd action. What atl_abd does is, un-earths tricks that have already been done and posts both clips, the first time it was done, and the time it was done for a second time. This is where it gets spicy, as atl_abd will tag each skater in their own respective clip, whether they were the first to do it, or they weren’t, often leading to interaction in the comments by the very people involved in the saga that is their very own abd post. The clips of the landed tricks will also be accompanied by a very Meme centred clip’ often poking fun at the situation. So if a bit of skateboarding drama is your thing, or you just want to know who landed what first, give @atl_abd a follow, and remember, it’s newest to oldest on the post formats!

@maxpalmerclips

Need we say much else? @maxpalmerclips You probably know whats up here. We see Max Palmer clips, we click and we like. Max hasn’t got instagram, so whoever is running this account is the real MVP, and is a must follow if like me, you’re mad for max footage!

@swift_blazer

Anyone who’s a fan of the golden era of street skateboarding, needs to be following @swift_blazer Ran by Matt Swift and reposting clips from some of the finest videos, released in some of the finest times within skateboard history, Swift Blazer is always pumping out the classic old-school street skateboarding clips you might have missed, or might not have seen in a number of years. As someone who started skating in the age of Instagram and social media skateboarding, pages like swift blazer are such an essential follow, as there is so much footage from way before my time that you’re missing out on massively if you ain’t seen, but sometimes it’s just impossible to know where to start, so an account like Swift Blazer is probably the perfect place to do so. I was recently watching some excellent Kareem Campbell footage on swift blazer, including a nollie hardflip I would have never seen otherwise, so bigup @swift_blazer !

@nice_footage

We already have a full interview with the operator of @nice_footage on our blog channel, so if you’re interested definitely check that out, but we couldn’t not include them here, as they’re one of our absolute favourite’s. @nice_footage, similarly to swift_blazer, just posts clips of good skateboarding. @nice_footage is definitely more modern based however, keeping very much up to date with all the best footage released every single day, however, you’ll also find some absolute classics in there too, the Jake Johnson in ‘Mindfield’ post springs to mind. @nice_footage is an excellent follow for all your skateboarding clips needs, and if you’d like to know a bit more, check out our Nice Footage interview on the blog now.

In highlighting our favourite clips channels, we hope to put a bit of shine onto the people that make these accounts what they are, and keep so many people entertained. To the accounts listed who’s operators are public info, big up to you, and if it’s secret info, keep doing what you’re doing, we appreciate you! Hopefully if you’re reading this, you might find a new favourite instagram account!
